Police: Cop impersonators responded to 911 calls, made arrests for years

Law enforcement officials said a group of police impersonators in Michigan spent years making arrests and fooling first responders.

The Flint Journal reports that a core group of about 10 people have been impersonating police across Genesee County, Michigan since October 2015. They are currently facing felony charges.

YouTube tightens gun policies, bans firearms demos

YouTube will start banning videos that promote websites selling guns and accessories, as well as videos that provide instructions on how to assemble firearms, the company announced Wednesday.

State senator says school districts should be able to set gun policy

State senators debated Tuesday whether schools should be allowed to be gun-free zones.

State Sen. Martha Hennessy. D-Hanover, put forth the 74-word amendment to a school safety bill to give school districts greater control of gun policy.

"My amendment would allow local school boards to decide, for their own schools, whether to allow firearms in the building or on school buses," Hennessey said.

The amendment is drawing fierce opposition, with some arguing that it's the first step toward greater restrictions of gun rights.

TSA accused of searching phones and laptops on domestic flights

We’re all used to our bags being searched when we go through airport security, but a number of reports claim that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is also searching the electronic devices belonging to passengers on domestic flights within the U.S.

Fla. school officer waited outside building for 4 minutes as killings happened, sheriff says

A Marjory Stoneman Douglas school resource officer has been suspended without pay after Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said video shows him taking up a defensive position during the shooting but never entering the school.

Israel announced Thursday that the decision to suspend Deputy Scot Peterson was made after reviewing video from the shooting and taking statements from witnesses and Peterson himself, Israel said.

“He should have went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer,” Israel said.
