Atlanta Cops Go to Wrong House; Officer, Homeowner Shot, Dog Killed

Three Atlanta police officers responded to a 911 call last night, but ended up going to the wrong house. In the ensuing moments, the homeowner was shot, his dog was killed, and one of the officers shot and injured another officer.

According to <a href="http://www.ajc.com/news/news/breaking-news/breaking-dekalb-county-police... Atlanta Journal Constitution</a>, the police received a 911 call about a suspicious person. The caller provided the street name and what the house looked like, but not the exact address, and the officers went to the wrong house.

They approached the house and believed that someone broke in. The three cops went inside and things ended up escalating quickly.

Shots were fired and the homeowner, Chris McKinley, was shot and injured, and his dog was killed. One of the officers was also shot and in critical condition, and it’s believed one of the other two officers accidentally struck him.
