Everybody is reporting it - Supreme court rules (June 23 2022)

Quoting the majority opinion by Justice Thomas,

Nothing in the Second Amendment’s text draws a
home/public distinction with respect to the right to keep and bear
arms, and the definition of “bear” naturally encompasses public carry.
Moreover, the Second Amendment guarantees an “individual right to
possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation,” id., at 592, and
confrontation can surely take place outside the home.

CDC Used Phone Location Data For COVID Research

U. S. health officials purchased data last year tracking the cellphones of millions of Americans to study personal behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic — raising concern among privacy advocates, one of whom called the possible use of that information to review tribal health policies, among other purposes, "a bit shocking.

UPDATED: Compiling Cases where concealed handgun permit holders have stopped likely mass public shootings

This is a revised, updated version of a post originally written on April 21, 2015.

Columnist Eugene Volokh wrote in the Washington Post on April 20, 2015: “Have civilians with permitted concealed handguns stopped such mass shootings before?” We provided Volokh with a list of such cases, which he used.

Stop Sen. Booker's Anti-Gun Apocalypse!

According to BeatBookersBill.com,

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has authored legislation (S. 4263) that would force you to beg the Attorney General for a federal license (aka "permission slip") every time you want to purchase a firearm.

His dangerous legislation would also mandate that you register all purchased or transferred firearms moving forward, as well as empower the government to confiscate ALL your guns in the event your license is revoked.

SAF: ATF Federal Firearm License revocations up a staggering 500%

In the years before the Biden-Harris administration took over the White House, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives usually revoked an average of 40 Federal Firearm Licenses (FFLs) per year. But, in the 11 months since Joe Biden declared war on “rogue gun dealers,” the ATF has revoked 273 FFLs – an increase of more than 500%. However, rather than targeting the true rogues, Biden’s ATF is revoking FFLs for the most minor of paperwork errors, which were never a concern for the ATF until Biden weaponized the agency.

“This has nothing to do with the ATF and everything to do with the DOJ,” said John Clark of FFL Consultants. Clark is a firearm industry expert who said the ATF announced the number of revocations at a recent Firearm Industry Conference.

“The vast majority of the ATF don’t like this any more than the industry does,” he said. “It’s Biden.”

Report: CDC purchased cell phone data to monitor lockdowns and compliance

ATLANTA, GA – According to documents from 2021 obtained by a FOIA request from Vice’s Motherboard, the CDC purchased location data gleaned from millions of cell phones to track movement of persons, in order to monitor compliance with COVID-19 regulations.

Vice reports that the CDC paid $420,000 for access to data from SafeGraph, a “highly controversial data broker.” In fact, in the initial stages of the coronavirus pandemic, SafeGraph actually provided data to the CDC for free.

What will you do about cops who murder dogs?

Sadly, there continue to be instances of cops terrorizing and harming the people they supposedly serve. This example is truly heartbreaking…

Surely, you’ve had the experience of having a dog approach you. It can be scary if the dog is alone, with no human to manage it. But it’s a lot less scary if its guardian is there. You certainly wouldn’t draw a gun and pump multiple shots into it. Yet that’s what happened in Inkster, Michigan to Bradley Brock and his three-year-old support dog, Moose.

The dog was clearly friendly, but the cop shot him anyway. Multiple times. You can see the event on video, if you have the stomach for it.

West Virginia’s Crime Rates Decline After State Adopts Constitutional Carry Law

New data reveals that West Virginia’s decision to adopt a constitutional carry law led to a decrease in crime.

In 2016, the state legislature repealed the requirement that adult residents obtain a concealed carry permit for their guns. West Virginians are able to carry a firearm without a state-issued license. They only need to be over the age of 18 without any prohibition to possess firearms either federally or in any state in the union.
