Gun control like owning a human being?

We won't comment on John's article in the Examiner, but we will quote a few paragraphs, and we encourage you to visit their site and <a href="http://www.examiner.com/x-2323-LA-Gun-Rights-Examiner%7Ey2009m11d28-Safe... the whole article.

Anti-gun prohibitionists insist as if some gun control is reasonable, but it is not: they can't even keep guns out of the hands of persons already prohibited from possession.

You have to wonder why a government is so much against an armed citizenry, anyway. Why?

Any regulation makes about as much sense as ownership of another human being. Just a little is out of the question because it is unAmerican. Can you imagine some socialists meeting with their Congressman to propose the 'public service' of owning another citizen for a period of 24 months? I don't care what you call it or for what purpose, such as safe streets or even national security, can you imagine how ridiculous owning another person in this country is?

This seems like a strange analogy to make, but as we said before, go ahead and read the whole article, and then please comment (either on their site, or ours).
